Prototype Construction

Prototype construction completed!

Projected initial sea trials have begun! Once complete, barring the necessity of major changes, the prototype will immediately be removed from service to have the exterior cosmetics and finishes completed, the air-conditioning fitted and the interior installed.

Final construction tasks:
  • mount and bond vertical tail: complete
  • complete design, and fabricate motor mount: complete
  • install dashboard/control console: complete
  • design, fabricate and install pilot seat mount: complete
  • permanently install glazing, including polishing process: complete
  • rig motor and rudimentary controls: bolted-in

The motor mount construction includes: one quarter-inch of solid carbon fiber outer laminate, fused to the core, with one quarter-inch of kevlar inner laminate, re-enforced with multiple internal bulkheads (also sheathed in kevlar) all through-bolted with eight, 1/2 inch stainless steel bolts. All molded into a sleek, custom package, skillfully blended into the existing lines of the craft:
